They are super simple to make too!

Here’s the DIY:

Birdseed Wedding Favor Hearts

(Makes approximately 21 two-inch hearts)

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin (2.5 teaspoons)
  • 3 tbsp corn syrup
  • 4 cups birdseed

You will also need:

  • large mixing bowl
  • heart shaped cookie cutter
  • nonstick spray
  • chopstick or bamboo skewer for making a hole in the ornament
  • parchment paper
  • cookie sheet
  • hemp string

Mix all the ingredients.

Use the cookie cutter (sprayed with nonstick spray) to mold the heart. (make sure to press down the seed mixture really well to keep the mold together very tightly)

Use the skewer or chopstick to make the hole.

and carefully slide the heart off the cookie cutter.

Let it dry overnight (or 6-8 hours)

add the string!
